Story Time at the WATER Center – Fish Tales!

It’s time for Fish Tales Tuesday November 13, 10am-11am. 

Join the WATER Center Staff for a free storytime and nature suprise!

The program is designed for Pre-K aged children, but all are welcome to attend.

 

This month’s book is “No More Water in the Tub” by Tedd Arnold.  The theme for the day will be Use Your Imagination!  The activity will be decorate a bath tub.

The WATER Center is located in Herman Hill Park on the corner of Pawnee and Broadway.  You can park in the lot by the playground or behind the WATER Center building.  The building has fountains out front.  Wander up the path towards the fountains and enter the building for storytime.  After storytime you can play in the museum or hike along the streamside paths towards the Arkansas River.

Kids Can Volunteer Too

Did you know that at the WATER Center youth can volunteer on the days that Wichita schools have inservice?  I know that lots of kids grumble when  you ask them to help out at home, but they love to help others and their community (especially if it means getting wet and muddy!). 

The next Youth Volunteer Day at the WATER Center is Thursday Oct. 11 from 2p-3:30.  Don’t let the kids spend the whole day off of school watching TV.  Give them something to tell their friends about when they go back to class.

Youth Volunteer Day is for kids ages 8-15.  You MUST register, space is limited.  Click here to sign up.

The Special Summer Theme is “The Books of Thomas Locker.“  Sept 11 the book is Where the River Begins and the activity is “Nature Hike along the Creek Trail.”  The program is designed for Pre-K aged children, but all are welcome to attend.

 The WATER Center is located in Herman Hill Park on the corner of Pawnee and Broadway.  You can park in the lot by the playground or behind the WATER Center building.  The building has fountains out front.  Wander up the path towards the fountains and enter the building for storytime.  After storytime you can play in the museum or hike along the streamside paths towards the Arkansas River.

Join the WATER Center Staff for a free storytime and nature activity.  February the story is Big Al by Yoshi and the activity is “Fish Friends!”  The program is designed for Pre-K aged children, but all are welcome to attend.
